[Discussion] Ubiquity Access Points

Im asking for opinions on Ubiquity Access Points here because there are a lot of very smart people here.
I have a UAP that no longer will provide internet access but devices connect fine to it. When I went into the control program and checked the configuration I see a bunch of "Requires a Ubiquity Security Gateway" and also the same type of notice for needing a Ubiquity switch. I never ran into this before with Ubiquity. Is this there way of just selling more equipment? I do not remember seeing these notices in the controller software (unifi) before. I could setup an access point with no problem.
I just purchased a Netgear AP as a possible replacement because the Ubiquity one is at a clients location - two hours a way. Going to give Netgear a shot at this.
So, What is your opinion on Ubiquity?
