Hello,
I migrated to Debian in view of its support for the i386 architecture. I have performed several of the tasks required to install the DVD iso but I did not fully understand how to verify the iso checksum using the keyserver and gpg. Can someone offer me a more thorough explanation or example command? I considered I might need only to 'fetch' the ID of a key but did not find the verification documentation adequate.
Verifying checksum signature files?

Thanks for the reference to the i386 issue. This indicates I need to wait for this testing to be completed. I read the first reference you provided and it was not sufficient. This is what caused me to post my thread. The thread you added is more useful and allowed me to verify the checksum signatures but no matter until the i386 issues are resolved.
Thank you @fabien

In reading further through: viewtopic.php?t=160751 regarding the EOL for i386 it looks like my N270 machines need to simply go away for recycling.

Re: Verifying checksum signature files?
What was the problem? What method did you use that worked?
It is not an issue, it is a development decision for the future Debian Trixie. The kernel will no longer be built for the i386 architecture. Bookworm, the current stable release, has a i386 port and will still be supported for several years.

Re: Verifying checksum signature files?
Debian isn't the first distribution to gradually phaseout it's support for legacy architectures such as i386 do the fact that better than 95% of modern computer are based on the amd64 or x86_64 architectures. Another reason that most modern Linux distributions are migrating to no longer putting out variations based on the older i386 architectures in favor of supporting the more"mainstream" amd64/x86_64 processors architectures.
