Hello I just got another System to install Debian. It's a used Dell Latitude 7390 with a 13" Display. After switching off SecureBoot and enabled Legacy Option ROMs in order to boot from USB stick, I was able to install a Debian System on the build in NVMe SSD. But afterwards I disabled this Legacy setting and tried with and without Secureboot to boot Linux, but got only an error no bootable device found. Going back to the BIOS settings I found out that I have to "Add Boot Option". But within the dropdown menu I couldn't find the files described here: Dells support site for Ubuntu
With the differnce of course, that I tried this with Debian But I tried it with Ubuntu as well, just to check if it works
So my guess is I botched something, and deleted maybe a file within the UFI partition. I made dozens of Debian installations but with BIOS not UEFI!
Does anyone have a clue, what I missed?
Thanks a lot
BR /Christian

Re: Debian 12 on a Dell Latitude 7390
I'm posting this from a 7390 running Debian
That article is ten years old and is no longer relevant. Debian supports secure boot, It's been a year and a half but I don't believe I had to make any changes to the machine to install Debian.
This looks like a better guide - https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-u ... ur-dell-pc
