[Software] Synaptic stopping and waiting for input?

Several packages, not all, will stop until I expand the "details" section and see: "Are you sure you want to install/upgrade the above packages? [Y/n/?/...] "

Never seen that before. Is there a way to get it to just do it without input?

Do you have package apt-listbugs installed?

Synaptic does have a setting to run the upgrade process in a terminal, this helps you notice the stall. I have had a few questions on nearly every upgrade I've ever done, so not a new feature. Much depends on a systems customization using /etc where new versions need reconciled and new additions for which there are not simple defaults. There isn't an answer file for upgrades but I suppose there could be.

I do.
The stall is not a huge problem or anything, now that I know to look for it. Just a curiosity mostly. Curious why it does this on Debian, but I'd not seen it before on other distros.

apt-listbugs is not a default install. By installing it you asked apt (and therefore Synaptic) to warn you about bugs before updating. If you don't want to review the possible consequences of bugs, then uninstall apt-listbugs.

I assume it's not a default install on Debian based distros either, and of course it won't be a feature of distros that don't use Apt.

No point using listbugs with stable.
