And

based on AllWinner A20 CPU (ARM) + 2 GB RAM + VGA !
This model: VGA port can bring older monitors to life, and 2 GB of RAM can definitely change the desktop experience in a big way.
Should be good ! I hope it will run Debian-ARM with KDE and Android just fine.
Have ordered one to see how it goes.
Previous efforts were either too weak (VIA APC) or lacked I/O ports. (Cubieboard, Riko MK802, ...) or both (Raspberry pi).
I believe It's the first system that's good. First sub- $100 PC !
It is mostly open hardware (except 3D drivers). There are lots of documentation regarding the board, so having it supported as first class Debian citizen has a huge advantage for both parties.
Performance notes:
1. It runs Android fine. (to my knowledge, I'll test it out)
2. Allwinner chips have multiple graphics accelerators on board.
2.a. Mali-400 for 3D (requires closed source blob)
2.b. G2D for 2D window composition
2.c. CedarX hardware video decoder. (has reverse-engineered open-source drivers)
Stable drivers exist for Android, experimental drivers for Linux. Debian images do exist for this type of CPU, but not exactly this board. (although rumors say, Debian images are in development)
Have Debian people tried to put hands on Allwinner-based systems ?
The fact that Debian is compiled for older ARM (v5/v6) could gonna hurt performance. How much (under typical desktop workload) ?
What do you think of it? Debian-KDE system will work fine ?
