I suggest tryiing bluetoothctl, which also was described in the https://wiki.debian.org/BluetoothUser Does even it see the device, note it must to be in the pairing mode to be searchable.

I suspect that the bluetooth controller is broken, like in my laptop. Bluetooth usb-dongles are not very expenisve, so can't at the moment suggest any other soloution.

I kept a dual boot on my laptop windows/debian. And I can say that bluetooth is working on windows.

Well then I admit it may be firmware/driver issue, but then you have to identify the chip, to investigate further. Maybe try some live CD like Knoppix,if it could even ireveal anything.

A google search of your laptop model + linux + bluetooth might also possibly help your yourney, the easy solution I have already provided, buy a usb dongle.

That's why I downloaded a github firware but you told me it was not a good idea :wink:
For the dongle, I will see if I really need it. :)
