Hello,

Welcome to the forum.

Can you please provide information about how and when the error appeared for the first time ?

It would be useful if you could provide more information about your hardware and software configuration using the following command (the inxi program must be installed):

Code: Select all

inxi -F -v 7 -z -s
You can paste the logs into the body of a follow-up message between code tags (if they fit the size of a forum message)

Hope this helps.

--
note: please, use code tags to include commands and/or their logs in the body of a message. Fixed it for you this time in your previous post.

The laptop is still trying to shut down. I have to wait until the battery completely discharges before I can run the line command and send the output. I see many others are having issues with this stable Debian 12 distro.

If your system is stuck at shutdown, you can force it to shut down (usually by holding down the power button until the computer turns off).

Hello,

Sorry to bother you asking, but when does the error message (quoted in the first post) appear after ?
  • shutting down
  • hibernating to disk
  • suspending to ram
Can you please collect and provide errors and warning messages from the system log before the shutdown command ? You can use the following commands:

Code: Select all

script log.txt
sudo journalctl -b --no-pager -p warning
exit
The log will be collected in the file named log.xt

--
note: please, use code tags to include commands and/or their logs in the body of a message. Fixed it for you this time in the previous post.
