Night light broken on Testing with Wayland

#1 Post by leftbas65 »

Hey all, I've seen this posted several times around the internet but I still can't get the night light working. It engages for a few seconds then defeats itself while remaining enabled. The most common solution I've seen is to apply a color profile, which fixes it for others, and I've had a color profile applied to built-in display in my laptop but it has no impact on the problem. Not sure which log info would help but I'm out of ideas.

I'm on testing and mine works. What is your schedule set to? If it's Sunset to Sunrise you need to configure your location provider.

What desktop? What graphics card? Does it work in Xorg instead of Wayland?

I noticed at https://pointieststick.com/ this week a fix for Night Light in KDE:
The Night Light feature now tints the screen in a colorimetrically correct way when not using ICC profiles (Xaver Hugl, Plasma 6.3.0. Link)
You'll have to wait for Plasma 6.3 though and Testing/Sid don't even have Plasma 6 yet, although it is imminent (already mostly in experimental).
