Hi all!
I have installed Debian 12 on my laptop but the touchpad is not working properly. It's fine for a few minutes (10-20 minutes), then it gets stuck and jumps all over the place, or the mouse slows down a lot. Even if it is set to fastest in the settings. I already installed the xserver-xorg-input... packages and the synaptic touchpad driver from the package manager, but it didn't solve the problem. What could be wrong? What else do I need to install? My laptop is Asus vivobook x1504az. It has an intel i3 processor and I was thinking that could be the problem? Intel processors are very specific to Windows.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Debian 12 touchpad problem
Re: Debian 12 touchpad problem
I would have to disagree strongly, that is a false statement. Intel cpu is not very specific to windows in any way....Intel processors are very specific to Windows.

You can possibly get better help on the forum with better hardware info. Nobody wants to look up Asus vivobook x1504az. Most seem to prefer info reported from the debian pkg inxi. Search the forum about it if you want to attach some info and get better help.
Some people might want to know your installation details. What image? what medium, and DE?
You mention problem with touchpad, but then say, "...the mouse slows down a lot." so I don't know, is it a mouse problem? or do you mean the touchpad cursor?
Overall, I'd say you can make a much better post with minimum effort.
Don't go stabbing around installing a bunch of stuff. IT's always a bad idea, IME.
good luck,
