[Testing - Trixie] What are your preferences for a good TTY?

I want an app where I can easily change the font and font size in tty.
I would like my font size to be selective, but many times it doesn't work.

I know only command setupcon from console-setup package.
What does mean “selective”?
How exactly does this dysfunction (of selection) manifest itself?
