Wifi suddenly stopped working

#1 Post by debianuse121212 »

Hello everyone, I am a very new user in debian and so far my experience using it has been a blast! until.. suddenly my wifi just stopped working. I am using the gnome desktop environment and usually the wifi icon is there but now it's gone. I have no idea what i did and what happened because there was no error, glitch or anything that I am aware of at the time. Now i am connecting my laptop to my wifi router via ethernet in hope of finding a solution. Thank you so much in advance.

Hello, Does your computer have a airplane mode? For example, on mine, "Fn + F6" will toggle airplane mode, turning off both WiFi and Bluetooth.

Yes, it does. I'm using a lenovo ideapada 330 14 igm. I have tried enabling and disabling airplane mode but nothing happened

Hello,

A minimum of basic information is required to try and help you: you have not even indicated which version of Debian you are using.

Please send the output of the command (inxi command must be installed):

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxz
Use code tags to include the output in a follow-up message.

Okay. I've downloaded the debian live iso and booted on a live usb. Not surprisingly, it worked. I know it's not a hardware issue because it was working before. So, what's the next step?

The systemd journal. Use the `journalctl` command to read the entries or the gnome-logs package if you prefer a GUI.
