Re: [O/S] Just uninstalled a Flatpak app via Software app but it is still running
It true it has an uninstall but it does not uninstall the complete flatpak. Just the menu entries so if you don't want it running you need to do as I said.

Re: [O/S] Just uninstalled a Flatpak app via Software app but it is still running
you can not remove a flatpak program via software center. you have to use the following commands. [*]flatpak list --app [*]flatpak uninstall --delete-data App-ID (where delete-data App ID are the name of the program you want to uninstall. ) For instance say you want to remove gimp flatpak. It would ...

Re: Protonmail and Debian
I was a long time Mint user, still use it some. Reason I switched to Debian was because it has KDE/plasma and mint not longer supports that DE. The Free software movement is great until your hardware will not work and you will need propitiatory drivers. Which Debian now provides. So your concern is ...

Re: Protonmail and Debian
I think you need to do what works for you. I use protonmail here use the web version so it's never really installed but find it to be a safe and secure e-mail client. Have also used Electron mail to access proton. I use the appimage version so it really not installed either both work well on Debian ...

Re: Need to reboot for wifi to connect
Next time to boot up and it does not connect try restarting network manager with this command
systemctl restart NetworkManager
see if that works , at least you will not have to reboot if it does. If it does not work it should give an error message.

Re: Unable to install apps
Most of the time you get that message when you have a broken install of a package you can try this command and see if it clears it.
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Re: Strange wine issue - the only thing that I can't get to work that worked in Ubuntu
Just had another thought (know that is dangerous) Did you install the i386 package with wine?
if not you may need to do Debian multarch found here:
how to debian mult arch
Many windows programs require 32bit libs. Just a thought.

Re: Strange wine issue - the only thing that I can't get to work that worked in Ubuntu
I was going to suggest install playonlinux but it's not working in Debian 12 either. One of the things I like about playonlinux is that you can install older wine version without affecting the current system. But there is a python error that keeps it from working on Debian at the moment.

Re: Can´t connect to secure WiFi
Couple things to try Is the wireless seeing the router in question?
Make sure secure boot is turned off in Bios. And for now disable IPV6 by right clicking on the wifi icon in the system tray and selection configure networks. Chang IPV6 from auto to ignored or disable. Let see if that helps.

Re: Privacy browser for debian
I would agree that Tor is the best at privacy. But it can be slow when on the web. You might look for a good compromise of speed with a good VPN that will do well.

Re: Will Debian 12 run smoothly on a i3 processor?
Should run fine, maybe not as snappy as an I5 or I7 but should be ok.
I would suggest at least 8 gigs of ram though. And an SSD drive for best performance.
Good Luck and enjoy!
