Re: [SID - Unstable] Sid Moves to the 6.10 Kernel
@pwzhangzz you know it's preferred to use code tags for terminal text etc. And certainly not images. Please fix it.

Install inxi and show us
Also check for any error messages in journalctl. Run after you experience the problem:
Code: Select all
inxi -ACSxxz
Code: Select all
journalctl -b -p 3

Re: Delete account
Stand by. We used to not delete user accounts but rather advise to change password to one you won't remember and email to a non-existent address. Currently discussing with the team whether to change this. May I ask why you want to delete? Contact link seems to not be working, I received no email. Wi...

Re: [Discussion] Possibility of removing games from the default GNOME desktop install
Just install the basic netinstall without a desktop environment and add a minimal one after booting to your install. gnome-core package may be what you are looking for, no games. https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/gnome-core

Re: Troubles installing Debian KDE, probably an NVIDIA issue
Intel i7 14700K was released after Debian 12 became stable, so there may be a few things not supported. First thing to try would be the latest kernel from Backports.

Re: [Software] KDE backup - how does it work?
I use the KDE backup and it works well. It's basically a frontend for rsync. Impossible to say why it's not working for you without details of how you set it up.

Re: Upgraded from Debian 11 to 12, sound no longer working
Wireplumber was not installed. No other dependencies were removed, thankfully. Rebooted, and KDE's volume control listed devices, sound comes through in Youtube videos. Thank you for your assistance. Glad I could help. Solution was not clear until I realised you had both Pipewire and Pulseaudio and...

Re: Upgraded from Debian 11 to 12, sound no longer working
OK so you have both Pipewire and Pulseaudio installed. This has been shown to be a problem in other topics on the forum. I looked back through my apt history and found I did this after upgrading 11 > 12: apt purge pipewire pipewire-pulse wireplumber Then reboot. It's a big hammer but hopefully it wo...

Re: Upgraded from Debian 11 to 12, sound no longer working
Let's try for a bit more info.
You may need to install inxi.
And:
When I upgraded 11 > 12 it installed Pipewire and I had to remove it to get Pulseaudio back. Not sure if that's your issue, it should work anyway, but worth knowing.
Code: Select all
inxi -ACSxxz
And:
Code: Select all
apt list -i *pulse* *pipewire*

Re: Upgraded from Debian 11 to 12, sound no longer working
Joebob Sorry I made a slight error in my advice. The file in /etc/modprobe.d/ needs to be sound.conf not just sound. Any filename ending in .conf should work. I edited my previous post to show the correct name. I just checked back in my system and realised this. As your webcam is also detect...

Re: WiFi Ralink RT3592 2T/2R not working properly
Why is nobody pointing out they want to mix Jessie repos with Bookworm, or that the instructions they link to are over 12 years old, which is 1200 years old in Linux time? It's Debian 12 and the sources are OK. It's just that the wiki page for that device hasn't been updated since 2015 - https://wi...

Re: Upgraded from Debian 11 to 12, sound no longer working
Use code tags for terminal text, errors etc. please. Fixed it for you this time. Sound can be tricky with multiple devices so one solution may not work while others might. Try going into the Configuration tab of pavucontrol and set the HDMI device to Off. Both the devices use snd_hda_intel driver so...
