I searched a lot but didn't find how to decode Octal code to text form in Debian with command line, I will appreciate a lot if someone respond and give some direction to do it. Thank you!

Thank you so much, i have been searching for solution for 4-5 hours it's crazy, and also I wanted to ask how can I install net-tools when I run it says "there is no file net-tools"

Good day for everyone, I hope for ur help, so I'm a new user of Debian I have never used Linux before and problem is when I want to update like :
apt update
it gives an error like
Ign:1 cdrom:// [Debian GNU/Linux 12.9.0 _Bookworm_ - Official amd64 NETINST with firmware 20250111-10:54] bookworm InRelease
Err:2 cdrom:// [Debian GNU/Linux 12.9.0 _Bookworm_ - Official amd64 NETINST with firmware 20250111-10:54] bookworm Release
Use apt-cdrom, so that APT can recognize the CD-ROM. apt-get ...
apt update
it gives an error like

I suspect your sources are wrong. Default in Bookworm is something like:Code: Select all
