Re: apt-get purge
No. In this case, one simple fact should be kept in mind. Apt purge does not remove configuration files created in the user directory. You must manually delete these files....These files are located in directories ~/.cache/vlc/ ~/.config/vlc and ~/.local/share/vlc Your explanation seems reasonable....

rsync verification
Since the current update for the Libc libraries Oct-2023 when I perform a rsync command to Debian 12 bookworm it asks for verification. The authenticity of host '192.168.x.x (192.168.x.x)' can't be established. ED25519 key fingerprint is SHA256:b9asORZOuLrvyjCRyoqZ6Kj9M+M8SEXlx078pdYqVis. This key i...

Re: Installation difference between ISO and live
Debian is not an operating systems ? I thought it was a Linux operating system ? Linux is an operating system. Debian is a GNU/Linux distribution, encompassing all the software in the official repositories. What you are referring to is the default package selection on a particular disc image, which...

Re: Installation difference between ISO and live
My question is why are there 2 different versions for the same version? In this instance and no other Debian 12.1,XFCE, amd64 bit Why not eliminate one of the versions ? I only see two versions and when I previously asked for other versions specific to what I requested none was presented. Present an...

Re: Different version of Debian 12.1 XFCE
You are confirming that the description of the SHA256 hash and description of the Operating system is correct ? I do not recommend the netinstall since it does not confirm the the components being installed and lets it load over the internet as its installing without any verification of the componen...

Re: Installation difference between ISO and live
Debian is not an operating systems ? I thought it was a Linux operating system ?
Why is there 2 versions of Debian 12.1 ? for XFCE instead of one ? you claim there are 70 000 packages, but I am not speaking about packages.

Re: Installation difference between ISO and live

Since both are the same operating system Debian 12.1 why do 2 different versions of the same operating system and desktop XFCE exist ? Here is an example the Debian-12.1.0-amd64-DVD-1...
