Re: RX 6700 XT on Debian 11 (Bullseye) - persistent issues with installing drivers

We put llvm-14 in MX 21 main, so that section also needs to be added. I've finally gotten back to this. I got libllvm14 from MX 21 main manually and installed that, and now I've been upgrade to upgrade mesa and linux-firmware* from mx/ahs on to bullseye. Thanks. Unfortunately I did not find it safe...

Re: RX 6700 XT on Debian 11 (Bullseye) - persistent issues with installing drivers

stevepusser I've used the MX bullseye AHS to get my 6700 XT working on bullseye, but with the latest repository updates this isn't working. My sources.list says: deb http://mxrepo.com/mx/repo/ bullseye ahs The problem is that several packages depend on libllvm14, which isn't in that repository, nor...

I'm not sure why you post about Ubuntu packages here. Is your Debian system working with dracut now?

APIC or ACPI? They're both things and they're unrelated.

Re: How can I expand the /boot partition on a LUKS LVM full-disk

Why are your kernels so big? I have 3 and my /boot is under 200Mb including EFI, and that's including AMDGPU firmware. Have you configured your initramfs generator to include more than needed? I have switched to dracut rather than the default generator, which might help (though that isn't the reason...

Re: Link is down, kernel tg3 transmit timed out, resetting

It could be faulty hardware. I have the same Mac (maybe slightly newer) and the ethernet port died years ago. I use a Thunderbolt 2 ethernet adapter instead.

Re: Boot without extracting initramfs to memory?

If you build the drivers in to the kernel (intead of building them as modules) then you don't need an initramfs at all. You just need hardware drivers and the file system for your root file system. If all your targets for example use SATA with AHCI and ext4 then you don't need much at all. In the be...

Re: NRPE service doesn't received package from network interface

Yes I can ping my server from10.25.29.33 and I connect to the server with SSH from 10.25.29.33 too. As I said, the package arrived correctly on the server but not to the process (see strace logs). So I don't think it's a network/firewall/routing problem, at least not outside the server. How about a...

Re: NRPE service doesn't received package from network interface

Can you ping FROM 10.25.29.33 to the server? Can you connect with other services like ssh?

Since it doesn't work when you listen with netcat instead of the nrpe server it doesn't seem to be Nagios related, but network/firewall/routing.

This looks like the driver version you're using isn't compatible with the 5.10 kernel.

The versioned parts are hard dependencies. Yes, uninstalling the metapackage is the answer.

At a glance the versioned dependencies are unnecessary and therefore a bug.

Re: RX 6500 XT GPU driver problem

The bookworm .deb can actually be installed directly because it has no dependencies but it's only up to 2021-08-18, which is quite old. Unfortunately while it has no dependencies of its own, firmware-linux depends on firmware-linux-nonfree which depends on the bullseye versions of firmware-amd-grap...

Thanks, I'm running 5.18 already from backports. Now trying 5.15 (most recent LTS kernel) to see if it's any better.

Yes. But I'm doing suspend (to RAM), not hibernate. You do have to switch off secure boot in order to hibernate.

It mostly works fine, just crashes occasionally.

Re: xhci/USB-C host controller - cannot enable, config bad

Ah it does work with another device (Pixel 5), just not with the USB audio device I tested with. The config error messages continue though.

The USB audio device has a USB-C port on it and shipped with an A-C cable, so it's weird that it doesn't work with a native USB-C connection.

kernel 5.18 crash on suspend

I have the 5.18 kernel from bullseye-backports as my new desktop requires it (Dell XPS 8950 - Alder Lake chipset, recent AMD graphics). It seems to sometimes crash on suspend. When I come back later, it's reset and waiting at the login prompt. The kernel log doesn't show anything, just a few message...
