I got this error when installed from live CD with no internet.
my USB drive as mounted on /cdrom, dispite this I had the problem.
When connected with INTERNET, Installation proceeded. (But faced no root login, no display manager etc.)

I had same problem. I removed the following packages. apt-get remove libreoffice-gtk2 apt-get remove libreoffice-gtk2 libreoffice writer is now launching. Perfect Answer. But anybody explain me how come it was not tested before release? Can u explain how you concluded that libreoffice-gtk2 needs to...

I upgraded 3 systems.
One could not load kernel after upgrade. I had to create initramfs manually before it worked again.
In another, home partition was not mounted. I had to login as root only.
Do clean install as far as possible. dist-upgrade is intelligent, but far from perfect

With normal user sudo didnot work. Somehow root password supplied during installation did not reached installed setupjoseph059 wrote:You don't need to reinstall. Current live Debian have this problem. With current netinstall this problem don't occur.
