I remember well one fact - when I tried the Debian 12 KDE wayland session, when the computer was automatically locked (desktop), the whole KDE session crashed and automatically restored. Xorg session works wi...

Re: KDE Random scroll wheel speed
Wayland is a constantly and very rapidly developing technology. I think (and this is my opinion) that using wayland on Debian 12 is not the best idea. For experiments with wayland, it is better to use a distribution that provides the latest wayland libraries. For example, Arch or Artix...

Hello. The reason for high CPU load is tracker. It is gnome nonsense, for metadata database, indexer and searching. You can disable it with simple command gsettings set org.freedesktop.Tracker.Miner.Files index-recursive-directories "[]"' Keep in mind that Gnome is not the best solution if...

Re: Why do laptop temperatures spike 40C when I have Steam open?
Plus, the 4th gen i7 in that laptop tends to run a little toasty anyway. Yes, I agree. I have a laptop with the same specifications and the normal temperature of the CPU is around 60 degrees. When working with heavy programs, the temperature rises to 75 degrees. I read somewhere that a temperature ...

Hello.
I think this is normal. Steam is a heavy program that uses video card and CPU resources.

Re: [Software] How Do I Install Zswap on Debian?
You said "zramswap", is that like a third, completely different thing that I'm unaware of or did you mean either zswap or zram? Hello. Debian currently has two tools. This is zram-tools and systemd-zram-generator . Both of these utilities work very well. You can read more about them here .

Hello.LMHmedchem wrote: ↑2024-08-20 15:16 I am hoping that a user here like pbear can answer this question. It may be that it is easier to accomplish this by directly managing KVM through CLI or an edit of configuration files and that is fine too.
Thanks,
