Re: [Video] Proper way to Update Debian with Nvidia Drivers and DKMS?

I am using Nvidia drivers with secure boot. The drivers are from Debian official repository. For the auto signing problem I am using the solution described in the following link https://gist.github.com/lijikun/22be09e ... 9c7a147cc9. Please read the comments carefully.

I know about that, the mirror I am using is archive.debian.org. The problem is that the key for that archive is expired.

Installing of jessie failing

For some reasons I have to install jessie on some old computer. But installation is failing on tasksel.
I have managed to install the base system, but after:

Code: Select all

apt update

I get error about expired key.
I have tried some solutions listed on the net, but none of them worked.
How to remove the error about expired key?

Re: [Software] Problems with CUPS

A year ago you had a problem with a Samsung M2020 printer.

https://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=150682&p=745553&hilit=m2020#p745553

Is this a different printer? If it is the M2022 rather than the M2020, the difference is critical, because the M2022 supports driverless printing but the M2020 doesn't, or at least is not listed as doing so.

Use of drivers is deprecated in Debian 11, and the driverless USB connection is the default, so that might explain your problems, but you need ...

FreewheelinFrank wrote: 2022-11-24 06:47 What make and model of printer is this? How is it installed? How is it connected to the network?
The model is Samsung M2022, it is installed via CUPS driver, it is connected to the desktop by USB. The desktop is then connected to the network, the desktop is de facto printer server.

[Software] Problems with CUPS

I have desktop system with printer connected to the system. Printer is working fine when I am printing from the desktop. When printer is in the idle state it cannot be found by the other systems on the network. When the printer is in ready state it can be found by the other systems in the network and the other systems can print on the printer. In either state the printer is accepting jobs. Is this the normal behavior of the CUPS, in the sense that printer MUST be in the ready state so it can be ...

This is very suspicious, maybe broken system.
I have installed nvidia driver from backports without any problem. Read https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers

What is your setup? Do you have two monitors? It is not clear what do you want to achieve?

Re: Radeon R7 M360

It's bullseye.

On my system swrast_dri.so is in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/ .

Yes, I have it there as well.

DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo | grep "OpenGL renderer"
returns:
libGL error: MESA-LOADER: failed to open swrast: /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (search paths /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri:\$${ORIGIN}/dri:/usr/lib/dri, suffix _dri)

Can't you see the error. LibGL is looking for swrast_dri.so in /usr/lib/dri/ instead of /usr/lib/x86 ...

Nvidia support for framebuffer

I have laptop with Nvidia 1650Ti Mobile Graphic Card. I want to install the Nvidia driver for better 3D performance.
I have remembered that I had a problem with Nvidia driver on my older computer. It didn't support native resolution of my monitor in virtual console. Nouveau didn't have this problem. To better understand what I am talking about please read this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1149736/getting-better-resolution-in-console-mode-nvidia-drivers .
I have read some posts that on ...

Uptorn wrote: 2022-03-29 15:13 If you run

ls /dev/dri/renderD*
you will probably find multiple listed items. These are DRM render nodes and there will be multiple to represent video devices if you have a system with multiple GPUs (such as an integrated Intel + dedicated AMD or Nvidia card).
You haven't answered the base question what is the difference between renderD128 and renderD129. I have both device nodes in my /dev/dri folder.

Re: Problems with bluetooth on Acer Aspire A715-75G

New information.
After restarting the laptop, I can see my phone, but when I click to connect to my phone, my laptop says "the connection to device failed".
It is interesting that I can send and receive files using the Bluetooth applet in KDE. I am satisfied with this, but also curious why the error message "the connection to device failed". Where is the log file for Bluetooth daemon?

Are you using a GUI to see if it can detect available devices to pair, or something in the terminal?
I don't have any other Bluetooth device other then my Honor 20 lite, so I cannot say anything about whether I can use other Bluetooth devices.
I am using KDE. So I am using GUI to see if other devices are present in my neighborhood.

In addition from previous information I have found this link https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... =803265#45
The sap server is not a problem in this case. Maybe the problem is pipewire.

[SOLVED] Problems with bluetooth on Acer Aspire A715-75G

I have successfully installed Debian on my Acer laptop. Everything is working fine, except Bluetooth. I think that Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 is responsible for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
I cannot connect to my phone ( Honor 20 lite ), it cannot be found by my laptop. The output of the "sudo journalctl -b -r -p err" is:
