Re: Bluetooth Icon and services just disappear after a few hours

arzgi wrote: 2025-01-04 12:33 Have you made your headphones trusted?

I too use pulsaudio, and bluetooth headphones just work fine.
My headphones are trusted but not always on as I use desktop speakers mostly. The headphones work just fine with the exception that when the Bluetooth fails I loose the BT connection to the mouse (and have to switch that to a 2.4 USB service) and I am unable to get the headset to connect.

The problem is the BT service not the headset.

Re: Bluetooth Icon and services just disappear after a few hours

What sound server do you use?

PulseAudio... why?

When the Blueman Icon dies, so does my BT link to my Razor Basilisk X Hyperspeed mouse which I then have to switch to it's 2.4 option.

When I run the systemctl status comment for bluetooth without the headset connected, I get:
Jan 04 11:15:00 blackbox bluetoothd[1390]: Endpoint unregistered: sender=:1.126 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSink/aptx

Bluetooth Icon and services just disappear after a few hours

This is workstation running bookworm 12.8 running 6.1.0-28-amd64 with a TP-Link TP-Link UB500 Adapter for my BT

Blueman is current according to apt.

Until the 6.1.0-28-amd64 update the Blueman BT icon always appeared on the panel and I could turn on a BT device, such as my headphones to get connected without problems. Now, after hours of run time, the icon disappears anf a reboot is needed to bring BT back.

Why is it dropping and how to solve?

Well it was. It didn't 'install' and yet when 'invoked' it did push the install of the new were kernel. So I have no idea but the problem is resolved.

[Solved] Kernel upgrades are never at the same time, Why?

This is hardly a crisis. I'd just like to understand the why of it.

I am currently running nine VM's of Debian 12.8.
I have six hardware devices running Debian 12.8.

All use the same US based Debian repository.

So why aren't all offered the 'next' kernel at the same time? I currently have all but two running 6.1.0-28-amd64 and two running 6.1.0-26-amd64. All get the same apt commands and each gets those commands within minutes of the others.

@fabien
It did not work on most. It seemed to work on two but that might have been a fluke. It didn't work on the other eight.

Nala seems to be having problems reading the "pool" folder.

Here is the command as it is used. Sorry for your problem.

sudo nala update && sudo nala upgrade && sudo apt dist-upgrade && sudo apt autoremove

And as there are ten sources.list files from the ten installations (and clearly not all are the same) I have not listed them. All do however use the ftp.us.debian.org/debian site. I am in the Philippines, and over the years, I have found the more local sites to sort of wink in and out of existence.

You ask for apt policy... but there are ...

Brave does not see this as a crash. That's the thing. All software is working... it's just the my ability to access the applications has been taken away. :-)

[Software] Not sure how or who to message... Brave on Host and VB

On my Debian 12.5
64GB DDRAMM and an 5E Xeon processor

For my normal browser, on Debian, I use Brave and access a web-based mail service from it..
I have a Windows 11 VM I use when I must run MS Word.
When running the VM, I often need to move back and forth between the mail and the MS Word program

IF:
Brave is running but the VM is not > No Problem.
VM is running but Brave is not being accessed (by my using Thorium browser for the mail) > No Problem.

Bluetooth timeout issues

I didn't post this on the device section of the forum as it seems to affect all my BT attached devices.
[The attached devices: Razor Basilisk X Hyperspeed Mouse; FG-07S headset; Bose SoundSport pods]
The BT seems to time out and then reconnect after a pause.

It there a setting somewhere to resolve this?

If BT is a lower priority service, can I make it a higher priority service?

As an example: The headphones (and pods) seem to cut out and the mouse seems to be far less responsive when ...

NEW: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/

I was asked to resurrect at older system that has been on the shelf for a bit. It was running 11.7 and I upgraded it to 12.5.. But the onboard NIC isn't working. I am using a USB NIC right now.

The upgrade announced it was missing /lib/firmware/i915/

I had put in the nonfree-firmware in the sources.list and a search for i915 and get this.

Re: Tainted: P OE 6.1.0-21-amd64

It seems that the OS was intolerant with a USB connection with a USB attached SATA drive hat likes to go to sleep on occasion. Earlier OSes were not an picky. I disconnected the USB cable from the workstation and that 'solved' the problem.

[Solved] Tainted: P OE 6.1.0-21-amd64

Ever since I moved to 6.1.0-21 I have been having problem shutting down. I had NO problems with earlier kernels.

The system slowly over about ten minutes closes everything and announces it is ready for power down and then says:
Tainted: P OE 6.1.0-21-amd64

Here is a snap of the screen.

Is there a problem with this kernel?

Re: A NTP oddness on just one server

OK I solved it I guess.
First, I set the time-zone to GMT
The next day I looked via timedatectl and it was at real GTM
I set it to GM+8 and is responed set the clock to GMT -8
So I set to GMT -8 and yeah, now it is a GMT +8 and is giving the correct time. :-)
